Do You Love Yourself?

Recently, I was challenged to face my own self-love.πŸ€”

😱 As someone who talks a lot about boundaries with my clients and anyone who asks me about it, I had to realize that I don’t always set good boundaries for myself, especially in situations that have been playing out since my childhood.

πŸ™οΈ During a recent visit home, I found myself in a familiar situation where I felt “fremdbestimmt” (controlled by others), which has always been a big trigger for me.
😀 I strongly dislike being told what to do without understanding the reason behind it.

πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« This loss of control brings up strong negative feelings in me. This time, however, I much better understood what was going on, thanks to my body’s reaction through stress symptoms.

🀯 I realized that I have not learned to set boundaries in certain situations, at least not quickly enough. As a people-pleaser, my first answer is often “yes” rather than “no.” And it does not sit well with myself when it, in fact, oversteps my boundaries.

❓But what does this have to do with self-love?

πŸ›‘ Saying “no” and setting boundaries is the biggest act of self-love you can do. Protect your physical and emotional wellbeing, no matter who the request is coming from.

πŸ€— I want you to reflect on your own life and see where you might be neglecting your own self-love.

➑️ Here are a few points to consider:

πŸ’₯ Self-love involves setting boundaries that protect your physical and emotional wellbeing.

πŸ’₯ Saying “no” can be difficult, especially if you’re used to people-pleasing, but it’s an important step towards self-respect and self-care.

πŸ’₯ Pay attention to your body’s reactions to certain situations, and use them as signals to set boundaries.

πŸ’₯ Remember that setting boundaries is a learning process, and it’s okay to make mistakes and adjust as needed.

❓Do you struggle with setting boundaries? Or are you the expert?
